Indian Embassy Reprises Defense Ministry’s Statement on Operation Sindoor in Beijing

Beijing [China], May 7 (ANI): The Indian embassy in Beijing has shared an official announcement from the Indian Ministry of Defence regarding “Operation Sindoor.” This specific military action was initiated as a direct response to the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, which resulted in 26 fatalities, including one Nepalese national.

On an announcement made via X (previously known as Twitter), the Directorate of Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence announced, “India has initiated Operation Sindoor, a measured and targeted retaliation against the heinous Pahalgam Terror Attack which resulted in 26 fatalities, including one individual from Nepal. Precision strikes were executed on nine locations associated with terrorist activities within Pakistan and Pakistani-controlled Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to dismantle the networks involved in orchestrating cross-border terrorism.”

The statement highlighted the controlled and restrained character of the operation. “Crucially, Indian forces did not target any Pakistani military installations, showcasing an approach marked by precision and restraint. This action demonstrates India’s commitment to holding those responsible accountable without causing unwarranted escalation.” The ministry mentioned that a comprehensive briefing would be provided later in the day.

The Ministry of Defence released an official statement through a press communiqué detailing the extent and objectives of the military operations. “Earlier today, the Indian Armed Forces initiated ‘OPERATION SINDOOR,’ which targeted terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan as well as Pakistani-controlled areas of Jammu and Kashmir—locations from which attacks against India were orchestrated and executed.”

As stated in the press release, a total of nine sites were targeted. The statement emphasizes that their actions have been precise, controlled, and not provocative in character. It clarifies further that no Pakistani military installations have been attacked. Additionally, India has shown significant self-restraint both in choosing the objectives and executing the operation.

The ministry restated that the strikes resulted directly from the recent terrorist incident in Pahalgam. They stated, “These actions follow the horrific Pahalgam terror attack where 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese citizen lost their lives. We remain committed to ensuring that those behind this assault face justice.”

The Indian Armed Forces mentioned that additional operational information about Operation Sindoor will be shared during an official briefing scheduled for later today. (ANI)
