The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), working alongside the World Health Expo Lagos, has joined forces with prominent figures in Nigeria’s creative industries to uncover investment possibilities within the nation’s healthcare sector.
This message was delivered by the Managing Director of PSHAN, Dr Tinuola Akingbolagbe, during a press conference held in Lagos not long ago to introduce the 2025 PSHAN Annual Conference with the theme ‘The Creative Catalyst: Driving Sustainable Healthcare Solutions in West Africa.’
Akingbolagbe mentioned that the conference aims to draw inspiration from the creative sector to encourage both domestic and foreign investments in Nigeria’s healthcare domain. This initiative seeks to foster industrial expansion and ultimately lead to a heightened impact of the health sector on the nation’s economy.
She stated: “The healthcare industry in Nigeria has minimal impact on GDP compared to other regions where it can account for as much as 30 percent of GDP. Given that Nigeria’s creative sector is rapidly becoming one of the most innovative and robust areas, this symposium aims to draw from its successes to revitalize strategies for investing in and improving healthcare.”
The event will showcase how innovation-led approaches can mold a more adaptive, expandable, and sustainable healthcare system. Additionally, it will encourage intersectoral discussions.
Leaders from both sectors. The conference seeks to draw comparisons with the creative sector, aiming to showcase how successful strategies and frameworks within this industry can foster innovative approaches for
investment, delivery, and accessibility of healthcare.”
