“There’s no room for complacency,” Kishore stated during an episode of the Star Sports Press Room.
“After the akhir match against the Mumbai Indians (MI), he informed us that our performance was lacking and identified particular areas where improvement was necessary. Complacency has no place here since he won’t hesitate to highlight what needs work. His approach is direct and concise. While he’s quick to acknowledge your efforts, he’ll intervene promptly should you start deviating from the path. This ensures all members remain focused on supporting the team’s objectives,” Kishore noted.
Gujarat Titans
Currently at the top of the table with 16 points, they have secured victory in eight out of their eleven matches played. There are three league games left on their schedule.
Delhi Capitals
The Titans, competing alongside teams like Delhi Capitals (DC), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), aim to keep up their winning streak. Securing the top position on the leaderboard offers them significant benefits; should they falter in Qualifier 1, they still have an opportunity to advance to the finals via Qualifier 2. Winning directly in Qualifier 1 ensures their spot in the championship match.
With Nehra, Gujarat won their inaugural IPL championship in 2022.
In GT’s recent game versus the Mumbai Indians, the Titans secured victory in the coin toss and decided to field initially. The standout moment came from a 71-run partnership between Will Jacks (who scored 53 off 35 deliveries, including five boundaries and three maximums) and Suryakumar Yadav (scoring 35 runs off 24 balls with five fours). Despite periodic wicket losses, this collaboration helped limit MI to 155/8 after their allotted twenty overs.
