Car smashes through Costa Coffee window to injure three as emergency services scramble to scene

A vehicle has crashed into the front part of a
Costa
Coffee store in Oxfordshire, leaving three people injured.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Carterton this afternoon after the incident, with locals spotting an air ambulance landing nearby.

The police indicate that they do not think the driver intentionally caused the incident.

Images from the location depict the region sealed off by law enforcement officials, with a minimum of three police cars and one ambulance stationed outside.

A Thames Valley spokesperson said: ‘We are currently responding to an incident in Carterton.

‘A vehicle has been driven into Costa Coffee in Burford Road, injuring three people.

The emergency services have arrived, and the road has been shut down. We recommend that people stay away from the vicinity for now.

‘We would ask the public not to share footage of the scene on social media, out of respect for those injured. If you have footage from the area at the time of the incident please share this with us by.

‘Call 101 or leave details via our website, quoting INC-20250507-1109.’

The spokesperson later added:  ‘We do not believe this was a deliberate act on behalf of the driver.’
