On Wednesday, airlines released a flight warning for airports located in the northern regions of the nation.
On social platform X, the airline posted that several airports such as Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar would remain closed indefinitely. The statement also mentioned that this closure would affect not only departures and arrivals but also subsequent flights.
The airlines similarly asked travelers to schedule their trips appropriately and verify their flight status prior to departure.
“As a result of the current circumstances, several airports in northern India, such as Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ), remain closed indefinitely. This could affect departures, arrivals, and connecting flights. Travelers are recommended to adjust their travel plans and verify their flight statuses,” the message stated.
In the meantime, Indigo Airlines likewise released a travel notice for passengers traveling to and from certain urban areas within the nation.
Indigo announced via social media platform X that their flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, and Dharamshala would face disruptions.
The airlines asked travelers to verify their flight status prior to arriving at the airport. “Owing to fluctuating airspace conditions in the area, our services heading to and coming from #Srinagar, #Jammu, #Amritsar, #Leh, #Chandigarh, and #Dharamshala have been affected. Please ensure you check your flight status beforehand,” stated the announcement. 3
Furthermore, flights to and from Bikaner would also be impacted due to the current airspace restrictions.

Earlier, India’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that the strikes were part of “Operation Sindoor,” targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The ministry stated, “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted.” The operation followed the “barbaric” Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen. (ANI)
