The upcoming edition of WAMPEX (West African Mining and Power Exhibition) is scheduled to occur from May 28th through May 30th, 2025, at the AICC and Grand Arena in Accra.

The organizers of the event are thrilled to share two updates. First, the event will now involve a formal collaboration among dmg events, the Ghana Chamber of Mines, and EPI.

Secondly, the event will shift to occurring annually instead of biennially.

Joshua Low, the Vice President of dmg events, stated: “We are incredibly thrilled to formally partner with the Ghana Chamber of Mines. Additionally, we look forward to holding this event on an annual basis.”

As interest intensifies regarding Ghana and the surrounding area from a mining powerhouse standpoint, we feel it’s essential to establish an annual event that brings together service providers in both the mining and energy industries with major purchasers throughout the region.

Additionally, Ahmed Dasana Nantogmah, the Acting CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, mentioned that they are thrilled to officially establish this collaboration with dmg events and EPI. This partnership aims to enhance WAMPEX as the leading mining and power exhibition across West Africa.

Organizing this event every year reflects our dedication to expanding possibilities for teamwork, creativity, and expansion within the field. Ghana remains a symbol of superior mining practices, and we eagerly anticipate hosting professionals from throughout the area to discover fresh ideas and promote environmentally friendly progress.

The upcoming event is set to be the biggest yet, featuring more than 200 exhibitors hailing from 10 distinct nations and anticipating around 5000 participants.

The WAMPEX conference, held concurrently with the event, will gather regional industry leaders for networking, learning, and development opportunities.

The mining industry in Western Africa has seen considerable expansion, notably in gold extraction, fueled by elements such as favorable governmental mining regulations, substantial foreign investments, and the area’s abundant mineral resources.

This is why Mr. Low believed that “Given Ghana’s stable economy and advantageous location in West Africa, it serves as an ideal venue for hosting this exhibition, which stands out as the most enduring and extensive showcase of mining and power solutions in the area.”

The upcoming exhibition will include an ‘Innovation Zone’ where attendees can learn about the newest developments and technological advancements in the field aimed at improving processes, boosting efficiency, and cutting expenses.

The conference will showcase an engaging array of presenters and subjects exploring areas such as
‘Promoting Sustainable Techniques and Economic Empowerment in Small-Scale Mining’
,
‘ESG in the Mining and Energy Industries: Challenges or Possibilities?’
along with numerous additional subjects to tackle major developments and issues within the industry.

Mr. Low said: “The event provides the perfect platform for industry professionals in the mining and power sector to source from hundreds of leading solution providers, network with thousands of industry professionals from around the world and learn from the conference and workshops”.
