SAU and SU Pledge to Boost Academic Collaboration

The Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam and the University of Sindh (UoS) Jamshoro have decided to enhance their collaborative efforts aimed at advancing academic instruction, conducting more agricultural research, and fostering rural progress. These objectives were furthered during an integrated educational tour and observation trip conducted jointly between learners from both institutions. According to statements made by representatives from SAU, a group of university students specializing in rural development, under the leadership of Kashif Siddiqui, toured several divisions within SAU.

The group was welcomed by Ghulam Hussain Wagan, who serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences and also holds the position of Deputy Director of the Business Incubation Center. While visiting, the students were provided with detailed overviews covering the university’s educational offerings, ongoing research initiatives, and various resources accessible within their faculties, departments, and experimental fields.

The visiting students engaged in significant discussions with several distinguished faculty members such as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Aijaz Ali Khooharo, Dean of the Faculty of Crop Protection Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ali Abro, Head of the Department of Soil Science Prof. Dr. Allah Wadhayo Gandahi, Director of the Seed Production and Development Centre at Latif Farm Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Soomro, and Director BIC Dr. Muhammad Saleem Sarki.

During the event, Ghulam Hussain Wagan and Kashif Siddiqui highlighted that this visit serves as an important measure for strengthening robust academic connections between the two organizations. They stressed that experiential learning like this significantly boosts students’ hands-on understanding and motivates them to actively contribute to advancements in agriculture and rural development fields. Additionally, the guests were informed about current departmental projects, available degree courses, entrepreneurial prospects, and business tactics focused on cultivating skilled experts of tomorrow.

The visit ended with a guided tour of the M.H. Panhwar Model Farm, where Co-Chairman Ghulam Sarwar Panhwar familiarized the students with contemporary farming methods, environmentally friendly cultivation approaches, and business strategies focused on agriculture that align with current local and international markets.
