Her aim was clear: ensuring success for each young man and woman studying under Punjab’s governance.
In tandem with these announcements, the chief executive conveyed a compelling call-to-action regarding civic responsibility, encouraging attendees to use their rights responsibly when expressing themselves freely online. “Always fact-check information prior to dissemination,” she counseled them.

‘Freedom comes with responsibility.’

The chief minister made a clear contrast between the incidents of May 9 and the recent attacks from India without explicitly mentioning Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). She implied that the behavior of the political party was akin to that of an adversary. “On May 9, we saw what one political party did; then India followed suit on May 6 and 7,” she stated, alluding to the latest border skirmishes.

“If an attack like this had been carried out by India against our military facilities, another incident occurred when a political party assaulted similar targets on May 9. Both events share few differences.” The Chief Minister vehemently denounced the assaults on government establishments and infrastructures, describing these acts as unparalleled in both severity and purpose. “These actions caused harm that adversaries have failed to inflict despite years,” she stated emphatically.
Highlighting the significance of collective nationhood, the official asserted: “While disagreements among citizens form part of democratic processes, consensus regarding allegiance to one’s country should always prevail. It is imperative that loyalty towards the state transcends every division within politics.”
In honoring those serving in defense roles, Maryam Nawaz lauded the Pakistan Air Force—targeted earlier on May 9—for subsequently intercepting and bringing down five opposing warplanes, thus safeguarding national honor. She conveyed respect saying, “‘The servicemen dishonored during that event are indeed the very defenders we rely upon today.’” Emphasizing her vision for peaceful pursuits, she added, ‘Ideally, I envision young people wielding tools such as pens and computers rather than weapons.’

She restated her commitment to peace and national cohesion: “My loyalty lies with Pakistan, not with those who promote treason and disorder. Over the coming four years, I will undertake all measures needed to ensure a prosperous future for our young people—this is my pledge.”

The head of the state additionally highlighted the importance of post-graduation assistance, promising that the administration would provide graduates with the resources required for starting their own businesses and becoming entrepreneurs. She remarked, ‘Securing the position of chief minister is straightforward; however, genuinely addressing the needs of the populace poses a true test. Our aim should be focused on service rather than indulgence in luxuries like official vehicles or ceremonial privileges.’

The CM advised the students to stay patriotic and refrain from being used as tools in political turmoil. He emphasized, ‘Do not move away from your homeland. Ensure that Pakistan does not face hardship or be left with reason to feel ashamed.’

She similarly criticized previous administrative methods. She stated, ‘Punjab possessed assets and finances in the past as well, yet these resources are now being utilized for the betterment of the populace rather than lining pockets.’ She added, ‘It requires genuine exertion to ensure food remains accessible for impoverished individuals.’

The head of the state praised Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat and the Secretary of the Higher Education Department for their dedication to bringing her educational aspirations to life. She remarked, “Their diligence is evident throughout the region,” extending congratulations to everyone involved in the education sector.
