The effective date is May 21, 2025, for an initial period of four years, as stipulated under Section 15(a) of the NAIC Act within the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Danfulani, bearing the traditional title of Turakin Zamfara, is anticipated to guide the organization in expanding insurance protection for Nigeria’s farming industry, focusing on mitigating risks like droughts, pest infestations, crop diseases, and various weather-linked issues.

With extensive experience in administration and banking, Danfulani possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration along with a Master’s degree in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. He has held key positions at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and served as the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
As per the terms outlined in the appointment letter, Danfulani’s remuneration and benefits will adhere to the provisions set forth by the “Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) (Amendment) Act, 2008.”
The selection of this individual for the position has garnered praise from multiple parties involved, who see it as a calculated step towards rejuvenating NAIC’s function in aiding farmers and bolstering national food security via an all-encompassing approach to managing agricultural risks.
