Want to Slow Down Aging? Daily Vitamin D Can Help

Daily consumption of vitamin D might decelerate biological aging, as suggested by a clinical study published in the journal.

The study tracked 1,054 individuals aged 50 and older for a period of four years. Those participants who received a daily dose of 50 micrograms of Vitamin D3 experienced reduced DNA harm and had lesser shortening of their telomeres, which serves as an important marker of aging.

This impact is akin to a nearly three-year lag in biological aging. The research indicates that vitamin D might reduce the likelihood of developing illnesses like dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and autoimmune disorders.

The study was carried out by Mass General Brigham, which is affiliated with Harvard as a research center.
