FirstBank Ghana has provided a donation of GH₵ 50,000 to aid the Ga Mantse’s Educational Trust Fund. This contribution was made when they visited the paramount ruler of the Ga State, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at his residence in Accra as part of a polite visit.

This action is intended to assist in offering educational chances for disadvantaged kids within the Ga regions.

Along with the monetary contribution, the bank provided crates of bottled water, various beverages, and Kaiser Imperial schnapps, adhering to customary practices during visits to a chief’s residence.

The delegation was headed by Mr. Victor Yaw Asante, the Managing Director of FirstBank, who characterized the visit as both respectful and focused.

“The primary purpose of our visit is to declare our backing for the Ga Mantse’s educational initiative. We have pledged GH₵ 50,000 for this year and intend to continue contributing annually. This commitment extends beyond a single instance,” stated the MD during an interview with the Business and Financial Times.

He observed that the Paramount Chief has shown dedication to promoting education, particularly for underprivileged children, and mentioned that FirstBank wished to collaborate with him to broaden this assistance.

Mr. Asante stated that “The Ga Mantse has shown significant commitment to promoting education, particularly for those who cannot afford it. Therefore, we believed it was appropriate to contribute to the fund he established.”

He also mentioned that the bank backs various social initiatives within the Greater Accra Region, such as the Homowo Festival, an event that honors Ga customs and heritage.

“We provide extensive social support, which can be either direct or channeled through organizations and conventional institutions. Our collaboration with the Ga Mantse is just one among several such partnerships, and we plan to keep this going,” he explained.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, who accepted the donation on behalf of the Ga State, conveyed his gratitude to the bank and requested divine blessings for its ongoing prosperity and influence. He commended the prompt contribution, emphasizing its significance for educational advancement within the community.

This contribution highlights an expanding collaboration between corporate entities in Ghana and traditional leaders, with the objective of promoting progress via education, healthcare, and cultural conservation.
