ASA Savings and Loans Teams Up With Bibiani Sectech to Plant Over 500 Trees

By committing to build strong communities and foster environmental responsibility, ASA has initiated partnerships with schools to grow and care for trees in alignment with Ghana’s Green Agenda.

The ASA group from the Bibiani Business Center at the firm collaborated with both students and faculty to plant the trees.

The saplings planted consist of mango, oil palm, guava, avocado, militia, ofram, mahogany, coconut, cedrela, and umbrella trees.

Mr. Emmanuel Opare-Yeboah, the Area Manager of ASA, urged the administration and pupils of the institution to pay greater heed to the cultivation of the young plants.

He emphasized that the primary objective of the company is to foster environmental preservation and sustainability by motivating citizens, especially students, to plant and care for trees as a means to fight deforestation.

Richard Nartey, the Sustainability Manager at ASA, stated that this crucial initiative is designed to replenish the depleted forest coverage within the nation and assist in decreasing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs).

Climate change has caused significant alterations in weather patterns, an increase in sea levels, and substantial loss of biodiversity. Due to our lack of effort in safeguarding the environment, many areas now face escalating temperatures, flooding, and critically, a scarcity of water.

Mr. Joseph Halifax Amandeh, who oversees academic affairs as the deputy headmaster, stated that the tree-planting initiative is a move toward securing a more environmentally friendly and sustainable tomorrow not just for their institution but also for the country as a whole.

“As a member of the administration at this school, I am responsible for safeguarding our environment, and therefore, I will make sure that ASA’s contribution does not go unused,” Mr. Amandeh added.
