Why I’Ll Take On The Efcc — Verydarkman

Prominent social media figure Martins Vincent Otse, who goes by the aliases VeryDarkMan or VDM, has detailed potential legal steps he might pursue against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after being released from their custody.

In a video shared via social media, VeryDarkMan disclosed that the organization captured an image featuring their banner. They cautioned that should this photograph, which includes accusations of money laundering, be published on their webpage or any social platform, they might pursue legal recourse.

According to Tribune Online, VeryDarkMan revealed that his mobile device is presently in possession of the EFCC, raising worries that they may interfere with his private papers.

“EFCC, I would like to initiate a friendly relationship with your organization; however, this bond could be jeopardized if you publish the photograph taken of me and falsely associate it with money laundering. Should such an image be released under false pretenses regarding illicit activities, please ensure that all relevant details surrounding the situation are disclosed,” he emphasized.

He insisted that should the EFCC go ahead to publish the photo with such a claim, he would challenge it legally.

“If I find my image posted on your situs web accompanied by an allegation of money laundering, you’ll need to back up those claims. This is where our conflict would start—resolved only through legal proceedings. Such a case could potentially set a precedent as the first of its kind. Proceeding with such a posting would unequivocally indicate that both the photograph and the accusation against me are untrue,” he warned.

“If you truly want friendship, remove any association of that image with money laundering, because it’s a lie against me. I don’t mind anything else you put up—no persoalan. In fact, I even want to use your placard as my profile picture,” VDM added.

Discussing the financial institution where he allegedly got detained, the influencer charged the bank with disseminating incorrect information regarding his circumstances.

“Regarding GTBank, let me clarify what transpired. The actions taken by all of you were quite outrageous; I’ve viewed the numerous images and videos circulating online. Were you under the impression that I would not make it through or emerge from this situation? Well, here I am, safe and sound, with proof in hand. Should the EFCC decide to remove those videos, that might work in your favor—but even then, it could pose issues for them. Regardless, I possess complete recordings detailing every event,” he stated firmly.

When referring to the EFCC as a “possible ally down the line,” he emphasized that releasing the controversial photo might irreparably harm their connection.

“EFCC could potentially become a friend of mine, yet this friendship might falter if that photograph gets leaked. We would find ourselves constantly entangled in legal proceedings. Even though you’re a prominent organization affiliated with the government, allow me to assure you—it will cause you significant distress. This situation will tarnish both your reputation and credibility. Moreover, it will reinforce the notion that whatever was shared online does not reflect reality,” he cautioned.
