Whatsapp Ban Cost Us £400,000 In Lost Deals

A UK company has missed out on approximately £400,000 worth of potential deals after being compelled to restart from scratch when several phone numbers used for high-end resales were mysteriously blocked on WhatsApp.

The founders of Love Luxury, Emily Abraham, aged 45, and her spouse, Adam Abraham, who is 38 years old, accumulated a substantial customer base of approximately 21,000 individuals through WhatsApp for their highly acclaimed designer reselling venture.

They bought multiple premium phone numbers through the VIP service for both themselves and their staff to boost merk recognition and establish greater customer trust, ensuring patrons felt they were dealing with legitimate operators.

Mr. Abraham told MailOnline that his firm has invested approximately £16,500 in premium numbers along with an additionalmonthly fee of about £35 for every distinctive set of telephone digits.

For some time, everything went smoothly at the opulent company famous for reselling handbags and watches. Its staff kept executing profitable transactions by selling high-end goods to devoted customers through WhatsApp. However, disaster hit last March.

The store manager, Marya, who interacted with approximately 200 to 300 customers daily, became the initial member of Love Luxury whose number was blocked on WhatsApp. This incident sparked a series of similar events that shook the company to its foundation.

Divulging that the ordeal had ‘100 per cent’ damaged their relationships with clients, the Love Luxury co-founder estimated between £300,000 to £400,000 worth of deals were being made across all the numbers when they were banned.

He informed MailOnline: “Altogether, approximately 21,000 individuals are unable to reach out to us. Concerning the worth of transactions we conducted during those periods, I estimate them to be between £300,000 and £400,000.”

‘I actually feel embarrassed for all the clients who know me. I’ve got such a great client base. I’ve done so much great work for so long that that it’s just, you know, it’s turned into this.’

Remembering that day, Marya decided to block her business contact on WhatsApp. Mr. Abraham shared with MailOnline, “Out of nowhere, Marya got up early in the morning to find out that WhatsApp was restricted. This left her utterly heartbroken; she was crying uncontrollably. To tell you the truth, this level of distress from her is something I have not witnessed previously.”

‘She doesn’t save 300 clients numbers, she messages them. So when all the messages were gone, she couldn’t get back to them. It made her look like she’s blocked thousands of people.’

If you love luxury, Love Luxury tried to contest the ban, yet since it wasn’t put back into place, Mr. Abraham became suspicious when his second high-value number, Marya, was quickly restricted after being activated.

Marya was not the sole person affected at Love Luxury; similar to a domino effect, several individuals experienced blocks on the app. This included Abraham’s business lines and even Adam’s personal number, which he had been using for almost ten years.

Countless of their customers believed they were blocked by the business, as Mr Abraham divulged they would regularly receive around 700 to 800 messages a day concerning the issue.

Most clients think we blocked them,” Mr. Abraham stated. “I still have individuals accusing me even now, claiming ‘your team blocked me; what an unprofessional act.’

It’s quite humiliating, particularly being a brand director. The last thing I’d want to do is have to tell each individual that they weren’t blocked. Even then, people remain unconvinced.

‘About 70 percent of the individuals we are losing…’

“I’m attempting to discover ways we could rebuild it once more, yet it has simply been incredibly disheartening for everybody,” he stated.

It seems as though we’re starting from scratch again and having to climb back up. Certainly, we have made progress, but in this kind of business, going backward isn’t an option. That’s the last thing we need at present.

‘It seems as though we’ve regained about five years’ worth of clients and expertise, and honestly, we’re engaged in an ongoing battle each day.’

Emily added: ‘It’s pure frustration. All that we have worked so hard for has essentially been ruined for literally no apparent reason.

Why is it that when we properly utilize a business service and continue to make payments, they can simply terminate our service?

But their depresi has only been exacerbated as WhatsApp refused to give any assistance or answers as to why their numbers had been struck off.

Emily expressed her sentiment about WhatsApp, stating that the company charges users for their services but subsequently removes these services without giving any advance warning.

One morning you find it missing, but when you try to contest it, there’s actually no proper appeals process.

The appeals process seems to be entirely disorganized, the customer service is extremely inadequate, it might very well be the poorest experience we’ve ever had.

She stated: “Everything we do follows the rules, we manage our company just as it ought to be managed, and there genuinely isn’t any cause for concern.”

I simply believe that we haven’t received any support at all from WhatsApp,” her spouse further stated. “We find ourselves in this situation, and now our main concern is growing.

We’ve decided against using WhatsApp Business moving forward since we’re uncertain about future developments, and it might appear problematic for our clients due to the blocks they’re experiencing.

He stated: “The entire operation carries a certain reputation, and when dealing with premium products, maintaining your standing in the industry relies heavily on credibility.”

I simply believe that this has utterly damaged the brand’s reputation, considering all the effort put into building it by everyone here, including Emily and me.

Now, they have been working in overdrive in attempt to replace WhatsApp which was previously at the core of their business structure.

Everybody has faith in WhatsApp,” Mr. Abraham further stated, “and because of this, using another application within Love Luxury feels off; it simply doesn’t align with the merk’s image.

‘This isn’t ideal for many clients either; after all, not everyone uses platforms like Telegram.’

‘If we opt for Telegram, it’s kind of like, well, we need to install it and download it just to communicate with Love Luxury, even though everyone uses WhatsApp.’

A representative from WhatsApp stated: “We continuously strive to outpace individuals attempting to misuse our platform. We also focus on identifying fraudulent activities and suspending accounts as part of our efforts to ensure user safety.”

If we make a mistake, we correct it swiftly to ensure people and enterprises can resume their conversations.

Several numbers that were previously ‘incorrectly barred’ have been restored to active status.

The Abrams have indicated that the numbers can now serve personal purposes, though they remain restricted by WhatsApp.
