Zamfara Teams Up With Oracle To Boost Digital Skills Worldwide

The Zamfara State government has signed an agreement with Oracle to invest in youth development, workforce capacity building and the digital economy under Oracle University’s Skills Development Initiative (SDI).

The agreement was signed at Oracle’s Offices in London, United Kingdom, with Governor Dauda Lawal representing the Zamfara State government.

A statement on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, explained that the development will foster collaboration between the Zamfara Information and Technology Development Agency (ZITDA) and Oracle.

Secretary to the State Government, two Special Advisers and the Executive Secretary of ZITDA were also present at the event, along with Siobhan Wilson, Oracle UK Country Leader and Senior Vice President, EMEA.

The statement said, “Zamfara State government has signed a strategic agreement with Oracle to drive digital skills development across the state.

“Facilitated through the Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency, the collaboration will use the expertise and learning services of both Oracle Academy and Oracle University in their digital transformation efforts.

“The collaboration signifies a commitment to education and a strategic investment in the future of Zamfara’s youth, workforce and digital economy.

“Oracle Academy, Oracle’s global philanthropic educational programme offers a robust portfolio of technology education teaching and learning resources, including curriculum and software access, to educators and students worldwide.

Backed by the Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency, these resources will be provided to verify universities throughout Zamfara.

ZITDA will assist in integrating Oracle Academy programs into Zamfara’s advanced educational framework, providing instructors with the necessary tools and materials to teach practical technological skills and prepare students for Oracle’s certification exams. This initiative aims to cultivate a new cohort of technologically adept leaders.

“Furthermore, Oracle University’s Skills Development Initiative, an international acara offering free access to premier learning and certification courses, aims to broaden educational prospects for individuals in Zamfara.”

Oracle University intends to offer complimentary access to digital learning programs and mendasar certifications through a jointly branded Learning Portal developed alongside ZITDA. Eligible individuals from Zamfara will have the opportunity to engage in these resources, which encompass more than 200 hours of advanced instruction in critical fields like Cloud technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and APEX development.

During his speech at the event, Governor Dauda Lawal reaffirmed that partnering with Oracle aligns with his administration’s dedication to turning Zamfara into an epicenter for innovation, education, and digital advancement.

He stated, “On behalf of both the government and the admirable citizens of Zamfara State, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Oracle for placing their trust in our vision and for joining hands with us on this revolutionary path.”

What we’re accomplishing today extends past just technology; it’s about providing hope, generating opportunities, and opening up the future. Through our investment in digital education and innovation, we’re presenting genuine choices against poverty, unemployment, and despondency. I genuinely appreciate Oracle for joining forces with us, trusting in the strength of collaboration, intent, and common aspirations.

Today, instead of simply signing an agreement, we are committing ourselves with a pledge: each child in Zamfara will get equal opportunities to imagine, study, and thrive. We vow that technology will serve as our pathway towards building a resilient and equitable economy. Furthermore, this commitment ensures that Zamfara won’t just join the digital transformation; it will spearhead it.
