Donald Trump recently made a concerted attempt to overturn a policy implemented during Joe Biden’s tenure, which ended up adversely affecting his supporters, as per a recent report.
Greg Sargent
, a staff writer for the New Republic, noted over the weekend that the president became upset about a Biden-abad initiative titled with the term ‘equity,’ leading him to terminate it.
“A crucial aspect of the initiative involved transferring funds to red states with the aim of enhancing internet accessibility in rural areas and MAGA country. However, now they may not receive this support,” Sargent posted on social media.

Sargent mentions the Digital Equity Act, which garnered the White House’s interest due to its utilization of the term “equity.”
Now Trump is looking to eliminate funding—which might affect millions intended for conservative areas,” he penned on Saturday in an article titled “Trump Angers Supporters by Axing ‘Woke’ Initiative and Unintentionally Affecting MAGA voters.
Sargent states that Trump observed the “equity” program and deduced that this must indicate the initiative was aimed at assisting unqualified minority groups.
He noted that this provided Trump with an ideal chance to exaggerate claims of anti-white racism. However, there was an issue: the Digital Equity Act included substantial funds for both Republican-led and Democratic administrations to enhance broadband access in underprivileged regions, particularly within the rural areas of conservative states.
Sargent goes a step further, stating, “Additionally, each red state administration
had submitted proposals
intended to secure significant funds for their respective states.”
“These suggestions were specifically crafted by these Republican-led state governments with the intention of benefiting the rural regions within their states,” he further explained.
