Ethiopian Airlines Boosts Lagos Flights To 14 Per Week Starting July

LAGOS

— Ethiopian Airlines has announced its intention to boost its daily flights to Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos from one to two.

According to a declaration made by the media advisor for an airline based in Nigeria, the updated timetable will come into effect starting July 1, 2025.

Mrs. Firiehiwot Mekonnen, the Area Manager for Ethiopian Airlines in Nigeria, stated that the updated timetable would provide more choices for travelers from Lagos with an additional daily service.

Mekonnen highlighted that the additional flights would provide direct access to numerous African and Asian destinations, emphasizing that these new routes would enable quicker connections, thereby cutting down the overall travel time for passengers.

The airline stated that there would be four evening flights scheduled for 10 PM and an additional three flights at 5:40 AM.

Ethiopian Airlines also mentioned that the existing daily midday flight would remain unchanged, emphasizing that only the timings of the extra flights were being modified.

An evening departure at 10 PM from Lagos via ET 902 will lead to an arrival in Addis Ababa at 5:20 AM, connecting various locations including the Dubai International Airport (DXB), São Paulo International Airport in Brazil (GRU), and Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel (TLV), along with several others.

Departure from Lagos at 5:40 AM via flight ET904 with an expected arrival in Addis Ababa at 1 PM will allow for connections to afternoon departures to various destinations including African cities, as well as international locations such as Dubai (UAE); Sao Paulo (Brazil); Tel Aviv (Israel); Mumbai and Delhi (India); Hyderabad and Chennai (India); Istanbul (Turkey); Rome (Italy); Athens (Greece); Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), among others.

Mekonnen stated: “We are delighted to provide additional flight services from Lagos. This increase in flights enables us to enhance our service quality and decrease travel expenses for customers. The majority of our travelers can expect quicker arrivals at their destinations.”

Since 1960, Ethiopian Airlines has been operating flights to Nigeria using some of the most advanced aircraft globally, such as the A350-1000 and the B787 Dreamliner.

It connects Lagos to over 140 global destinations.
