LAGOS –
US technology entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced the successful launch of 29 additional Starlink satellites into Earth’s orbit.
The satellites were sent into orbit from Florida, thereby enlarging the Starlink network managed by SpaceX.
On Sunday, Musk shared this announcement through a post on X, which was previously called Twitter.
“An additional 29 Starlink satellites were added to the constellation,” he noted.
As per data provided by Space.com, the recent inclusion has increased the total count of Starlink satellites in orbit to 7,135 by March 28, 2025. It is also noted that out of these, approximately 7,105 are functioning properly.
Starlink, an initiative of Elon Musk’s aerospace firm SpaceX, seeks to deliver high-speed internet connectivity to underserved and isolated areas worldwide.
The most recent rollout followed closely after Musk declared that Starlink services had been activated in Armenia, showcasing the firm’s continuous global growth.
Over the past few months, Musk has become increasingly involved in politics with greater visibility. He acts as a special advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, a role that has garnered considerable public and media interest.
Neither SpaceX nor the U.S. government has provided additional information regarding the latest launch, such as the precise mission goals or the setup of the satellites involved.
