Dhaka, May 11 — The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (Bajus) has announced a reduction in the price of gold by Tk1050 per bhori, with the new prices taking effect from Sunday.

Based on the updated pricing, a bhori of high-quality 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 1,70,761.

On Saturday, high-quality gold was priced at Tk 1,71,811 per bhori.

According to the Bajus notification, the cost of pure gold (also known as acid gold) has dropped in the domestic market. Consequently, the latest pricing for gold has been set taking into account the prevailing circumstances.

Based on the updated pricing, the cost for premium-grade or 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) is set at Tk170,761; for 21-carat gold per bhori, it stands at Tk163,004; for 18-carat gold per bhori, it is priced at Tk139,711; and for standard gold per bhori, the rate is established at Tk115,532.

Even though the cost of gold has gone up, the price of silver has stayed the same.
