Sir Tom Farmer, the founder of the Kwik Fit garage chain, passed away at the age of 84.
The businessman from Edinburgh passed away calmly at his residence in the city on Friday, as stated by his family.
He transformed the company into the largest standalone tire and auto parts retailer globally, ultimately selling it to Ford for approximately $1 billion in 1999.
Sir Tom held a controlling share in Hibernian FC for over two decades before he sold his stake in the team in 2019.
