The Minister for Works and Housing, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has formally launched the recently appointed board members of TDC Ghana Ltd, charging them with the responsibility to fulfill the firm’s mission of offering cost-effective and sustainable residential options.
The recently formed board is led by Isaac Odamtten, who represents Tema East as a Member of Parliament, along with these members:
- Mr. Courage K. M. Nunekpeku (CEO)
- Mr. Adam Awal
- Mr. Ebenezer Sam
- Rev. Mrs. Barbara Ayesu
- Mr. Abdul Gafaru Ali
- Mr. Elliot Gordor
At the inauguration event, Adjei commended the appointees for securing positions they undoubtedly deserve and lauded TDC Ghana Ltd for maintaining its status as one of the top five highest-performing government-run companies in Ghana.
He stressed the importance of the firm staying true to its primary aim of providing cost-effective homes and urged for enhanced cooperation with the Ministry to push forward policy changes and guarantee the efficient use of public land.
The Minister implored the newly appointed Board to offer a clear policy framework and strategic supervision while upholding the operational independence of the company’s leadership. He motivated them to assist the Managing Director in tackling crucial issues like the reinstatement of lapsed land leases.
Adjei likewise highlighted the significance of ensuring that TDC Ghana Ltd’s operations sync up with the overarching policy framework set forth by the Ministry. This alignment aims at fostering greater transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth in urban areas.
The recently sworn-in board is anticipated to have a crucial impact on steering the corporation’s strategic expansion and supporting the country’s housing initiatives.
