, as Chief Guest.

Addressing the opening ceremony,
Justice Manmohan
He stated, “Occasionally, the intricacies of international law and the perpetually evolving regulatory landscape resemble traversing a tempest—unforeseeable, rapidly changing, and necessitating acute legal acumen. Current worldwide issues such as cross-border protection of intellectual property rights, financial technology advancements, data confidentiality, cyber security, and the emergence of artificial intelligence demand legal frameworks to be much more adaptable, compatible across borders, and visionary. Despite these upheavals, our foundational principles offer a stable ship, with the rule of law serving as our steadfast guide.”

He went on to say, “The Indian judicial system is dedicated to making sure that laws evolve alongside advancements in technology and changes in international commerce. Programs such as the e-Courts initiative and the introduction of the Mediation Act signify a deliberate move towards enhancing efficiency, availability, and flexibility within our court processes. By promoting legal creativity while maintaining equity and consistency, we can establish a regulatory environment that supports both fair administration of justice and robust economic development in today’s interlinked world.”

Dr. Lalit Bhasin, who chairs both the conference and the SILF organization, began with opening comments stating, “This conference has been organized by
Services Export Promotion Council

The conference delved into India’s developing legal landscapes and their influence on global commerce, with an emphasis on key areas including energy, technology, finance, and infrastructure. Specialists further examined strategies for incorporating environmental, social, and governance criteria within corporate practices. Additionally, discussions centered around current pressing matters involving techno-legal regulations—specifically artificial intelligence, data privacy, and cybersecurity issues.

He went on to say, “The dispute resolution process in India, which remains inadequate, was also examined. The government’s latest efforts to encourage mediation were appreciated. Additionally, it was emphasized that there is an urgent requirement to relax India’s strict regulations on activities such as advertising within the legal sector.”

Notable attendees at the conference comprised Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs within the Ministry of Law & Justice, Dr. Lalit Bhasin, who chaired the event and serves as the President of SILF; along with Dr. Upasana Arora, holding the position of Vice President.
