Bhutan Signs Deal with Adani for 5,000 MW Hydropower Project

and the Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) of

have entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop 5,000 MW of hydropower projects.

The Memorandum of Understanding expands upon the continuing collaboration for the 570/900 MW Wangchhu Hydropower Project, where DGPC will maintain a controlling share of 51 percent, with Adani holding the remaining 49 percent.

The larger 5,000 MW plan will include various hydropower and pumped storage initiatives that will be pinpointed, have their Detailed Project Reports compiled, and then move toward phased execution.
