The Africa Sustainable Energy Centre (ASEC) has revealed the upcoming
African Sustainable Energy Discussion (ASED)
, set to occur online on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 13:00 GMT.

Held under the theme
Bridging Africa’s Energy Access Gap: Obstacles, Innovations, and the Way Forward,
The high-level forum aims to tackle the ongoing problem of inadequate energy access throughout sub-Saharan Africa, home to more than 600 million individuals who lack consistent electrical power.

This occasion will act as a forum for discussing effective policy approaches, examining cutting-edge energy innovations, and encouraging cooperation between government and private enterprises.

The organizers anticipate over 1,000 attendees at this dialogue, featuring a mix of international and domestic policy-makers, prominent figures from the energy sector, representatives from development organizations, scholars, and members of the business community.

It is expected that the discussions will center around coordinating initiatives with the continent’s sustainability objectives and speeding up the shift towards cleaner and more dependable energy systems.
