Toy Gun Toting Thieves Snatch Car from Nigerian Resident

Agents from the Niger State Police Command have apprehended three individuals suspected of being armed robbers. These suspects attempted to steal cash from a resident of Niger State but were unsuccessful. In retaliation, they stole a Toyota Camry sedan from the same individual.

learned that Umar Mukhtar, who is 25 years old and lives on Okada Road in Minna, along with 30-year-old Shuaiburahman Ahmed,

Mohammed Ibrahim Abba, who is 25 years old from Tafa, Kaduna State, was brought to a house in Bosso Estate with someone named Same Address by an individual called Mustapha from the Angwan-Kaje area of Minna with the intention of committing robbery.

They asked for money from their target but came away empty-handed. As they were deciding what to do next, the victim’s spouse arrived in a Toyota Camry bearing registration number KNT 785 SN. The assailants swiftly confronted the woman and seized her vehicle using threats with a firearm.

Nevertheless, Nemesis tracked down the suspects, who were subsequently apprehended by officers from the Niger State Police Command.

In the course of questioning, one individual admitted that they employed a fake firearm during the robbery, whereas another stated that it was him who confined the residents of the house within the bathroom prior to their departure in the vehicle.

Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the police in Niger State, verified the occurrence of the robbery but stated that the vehicle had been retrieved during continuing investigations.

He likewise told our correspondent that attempts to apprehend one of the escaping suspects were continuing.

Abiodun went on to say: “The individuals under suspicion were apprehended at Dikko intersection while traveling in a white Toyota Camry believed to be previously stolen. Upon questioning, Mukhtar admitted that on May 3rd, 2025 around 8 pm, an individual named Mustapha from the Angwan-Kaje district of Minna directed him and Shuaibu to a house within the Bosso Estate for the purpose of committing theft.”

Mustapha had a pretend gun, and both he and Shuaibu used screwdrivers as their weapons.

He added that they demanded money from their victims; however, since there wasn’t any available, the spouse of one of the victims arrived during the robbery. Consequently, the car with registration number KNT 785 SN was seized.

“An initial inquiry found that Mukhtar and Shuaibu took control of the vehicle, whereas Mustapha remained behind and confined the victims inside the restroom to prevent anyone from raising the alarm.”

The aforementioned Mustapha connected Mukhtar and Shuaibu with Mohammed Abba at Dikko junction, who was reached out to transport them to Kaduna for disposing of the vehicle.

“Nonetheless, the vehicle has been found, and the suspects are currently under investigation. Efforts to apprehend Mustapha, who remains at large, continue,” stated Abiodun additionally.
