Rwanda and E7 Group, which is part of ADQ—a sovereign wealth fund located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with expertise in secure printing—have entered into an agreement. This pact aims to facilitate the creation of a production plant within Rwanda’s borders.
The framework agreement was signed on May 8 by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the E7 Group.
According to the RDB statement, “This collaboration will encompass various services and create a cutting-edge production plant aimed at improving public service delivery while bolstering Rwanda’s expanding position as a center for sophisticated manufacturing in the area.”
Setting up a manufacturing plant in the printing industry aligns with Rwanda’s plan to strengthen its industrial sector as outlined in the Second National Strategy for Transformation (NST2). This strategy aims to elevate exports and private investments to $7.3 billion and $4.6 billion, respectively.
The Abu Dhabi-based E7 Group previously operated under the name United Printing and Publishing (UPP). In 2023, it underwent a merger with ADC Acquisition Corporation and subsequently adopted the new name E7 Group as part of various investment endeavors.
The firm, which is listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, engages in numerous operations including printing identification cards, banking cards, passports, packaging materials, publishing newspapers, producing books, developing educational content, and more.
By 2024, the firm reported a turnover of $189 million and held assets valued at over $645 million.
The E7 Group operates across various industries, with one of its key entities being E7 Security. This division utilizes advanced secure printing technologies to safeguard confidential personal and business information. It collaborates closely with financial institutions, governmental bodies, telecommunications companies, retailers, hotels, and transportation enterprises.
