Actor Byun Woo-seok along with Nam Goong-min’s agency urged people to be cautious about pretending to be managers or staff members.
Recently, 935 Entertainment, featuring Nam Goong-min and Yeon Jung-hoon among its members, reported an incident where someone fraudulently posed as one of their staff.
On the 9th, 935 Entertainment stated in their official announcement that they had identified a situation where someone was posing as one of their employees to achieve monetary gains. Specifically, it came to light that individuals pretending to be the manager of an artist were defrauding restaurants and vineyards by arranging fictitious corporate dinners and then not showing up, leading to significant orders being canceled.
He stressed that “Under no circumstances do our employees or officials ask for monetary transfers or demand the purchase of items from external sources.” He also stated, “Do not make any payments or reply to such requests; instead, contact the police right away.”
“935 Entertainment has acknowledged the gravity of this situation and stated that they will make every effort to ensure such harm does not occur again,” he further noted.
Baro Entertainment, managed by Byun Woo-suk, stated on their official channel on August 8th that they “request vigilance against recent occurrences where individuals have attempted to deceive others by pretending to be our staff members for monetary gain.”
He went on to say, “By posing as our celebrity manager, we are damaging reputations by soliciting pre-payments from small business proprietors and enterprises under the pretense of organizing corporate meals. We request payments primarily for items like wine but fail to follow up once we have what we want.”
This is to inform you that “Our employees and officials do not request any money transfer or purchase of goods under any circumstances, and all such requests are illegal activities.””If you receive a similar request, please make sure to check whether you are an employee of our company and pay special attention to prevent further damage.”,” he said. Finally “I am deeply aware of the seriousness of the matter and will do my best to take legal action against such acts.”,” he said.
In early March, Byun Woo-suk’s agency similarly stated that they had discovered attempts to profit financially from his work. The agency mentioned at that time that they held representation rights for Byun Woo-suk’s international shows.
Similarly, recently, Song Ga-in’s agency, G-Stars, has been suffering from fraud by impersonating managers.
