New Delhi [India], May 7 (ANI): As India proceeds with
precision strikes
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri updated ambassadors and representatives from 13 UN Security Council member nations about the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK. He communicated that India’s reaction to the April 22 Pahalgam terror strike was “targeted, measured, and restrained,” according to sources.
They mentioned that the Foreign Secretary indicated the April 22 terrorist attack, where 26 individuals lost their lives, represented an “upsurge for us.”
According to sources, Misri highlighted that The Resistance Front (TRF), which acts as a cover for LeT, initially took credit for the terrorist attack but later withdrew their claim when they understood the consequences of such an admission.
According to sources, he communicated that Pakistan made significant efforts to produce a statement from the UN Security Council, indicating that there appears to be an underlying strategy behind these actions.
Misri stated that India’s reaction was “focused, controlled, and restrained,” and the
precision strikes
have been conducted exclusively against terrorist infrastructure.
However, Pakistan has been concentrating on targeting civilian infrastructure in the Poonch region.
Misri said Pahalgam was a barbaric terror attack and everyone saw what it was.
He said India has responded to a terror attack and has targeted terrorist infrastructure.
He is learnt to have said that if Pakistan responds then India will also respond and that shelling is taking place along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said there were queries about possible reaction from Pakistan and the Foreign Secretary conveyed that India has responded to a terrorist attack.
He stated that India has not aimed at any military installations and has struck nine locations affiliated with terrorist organizations.
It has been reported that he stated if Pakistan targets civilian infrastructure, India will retaliate.
According to sources, Misri stated that India possesses reliable proof indicating these nine locations were utilized for training terrorists and served as launching pads for their operations.
They mentioned that Misri indicated it is premature to comment on casualties at this time.
The terrorist infrastructure is located within compounds that include religious schools, places of worship, play zones, living quarters, and exercise grounds. These facilities have reportedly served as training centers for militants, a fact that India seems to have aimed at addressing, according to his statement.
Misri said that India’s mission in the US is also reaching out to all the UNSC members.
Earlier in the day, at a joint briefing on Operation Sindoor in which nine terrorist camps were targeted with
precision strikes
, Foreign Secretay Vikram Misri said the terror attack in Pahalgam was marked with extreme barbarity, with the victims mostly killed with head shots at close range and in front of their family.
“The family members were deliberately traumatised through the manner of killing, accompanied by the exhortation that they should take back the message. The attack was clearly driven by the objective of undermining normalcy returning to Kashmir,” he said.
Misri indicated that Indian intelligence organizations were tracking terrorist activities and expressed worries about potential future terror strikes within the country.
“Intelligence suggested that additional assaults on India are imminent. Therefore, there was a necessity to discourage and stop these acts; consequently, early today, India asserted its right to counteract in order to prevent further border-crossing terrorism…” He stated. “Our measures were calculated, restrained, appropriate, and accountable. The aim was to destroy the terrorist network’s support structures,” he added.
Flight Lieutenant Vyomika Singh reported that a total of nine terrorist sites were targeted and effectively neutralized. She emphasized that the chosen targets were carefully selected to avoid any harm to civilian populations and their infrastructure.
“The Indian Armed Forces initiated Operation Sindoor to ensure justice for the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their loved ones. This operation led to the successful destruction of nine terrorist camps… Careful consideration went into selecting these sites to prevent harm to civilian structures and to safeguard against any casualties among civilians,” she stated.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi presented some footage of the attacks demolishing terrorist bases.
The Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ early Wednesday.
Twenty-six people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. The government had said that the perpetrators will face severe punishment. (ANI)
