Republic Bank Ghana, a prominent financial entity known for its innovative strategies and customer-centric philosophy, remains dedicated to fostering comprehensive national progress through significant interactions in the Volta Region. These efforts are specifically targeted towards catalyzing changes in agriculture, boosting economic expansion, and enhancing access to financial services.
Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, the Managing Director of Republic Bank, headed a delegation for a courtesy visit to the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu. This meeting highlighted Republic Bank’s commitment to contributing to national progress.
The emphasis was on discovering ways to bolster agriculture, strengthen local businesses, and offer customized financial services aimed at improving the socioeconomic structure of the area.
Present at the meeting as well was Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, who serves as a member of the Council of State and is a distinguished proponent for progress in the region.
Dr. Dzoboku was joined by Mr. Ferguson Ofori-Atta, who serves as the Chief Financial Officer; Ms. Irene Enyonam Quaye, the manager of the Ho branch; along with two additional team members, Angela Ghassoub and Ama Gyemfuah Tieku, all hailing from the same Ho location.
Mr. Atokple expressed his thoughts on the visit stating, “Given that my own enterprise has expanded thanks to the assistance provided by Republic Bank, I am enthusiastic about collaborating with the bank to extend this prosperity throughout the Volta Region.”
This trip serves as a strategic move aimed at uncovering chances within farming and small business growth. These opportunities have the power to boost our economy, enhance daily life quality, and uplift the well-being of our community—a cause close to my heart.
I would like to convey the sincere gratitude of the residents of the Volta Region to Republic Bank for their consistent support and foresight, along with opening a branch in our area. Agriculture holds the key to our future, and we welcome businesses from across Ghana to come invest, partner, and thrive here,” he concluded.
During the meeting, Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu pointed out various crucial areas requiring immediate financial assistance, such as agricultural mechanization and rice cultivation in regions like Tongu, Ketu North, and parts of the Northern belt within the area, along with offering customized mortgage solutions. On behalf of Republic Bank, Dr. Dzoboku expressed the bank’s significant commitment to working alongside local partners to create specialized financial tools and services aimed at bolstering these essential industries.
As a financial institution dedicated to nationwide progress, Republic Bank looks forward to significantly supporting the advancement of the Volta Region,” stated Dr. Dzoboku. “For us, agriculture represents more than an industry; it serves as a cornerstone for enduring economic prosperity and better living standards.” He further noted, “Our focus lies particularly on programs that create tangible effects within local communities.
Support for Healthcare Development
After their meeting with the Regional Minister, members of the Bank’s team carried out an evaluation at the Ho Teaching Hospital. Here, Republic Bank committed to assisting with some urgent requirements of the facility, thereby reinforcing its dedication to enhancing community health and making socially responsible investments as part of its endorsement for SDG-3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
The group was cordially welcomed by Mr. George Tetteh, the Hospital Administrator, and Mr. Kwasi Dzramedo, the Finance Director. Both individuals showed gratitude for the Bank’s visit and displayed an eagerness to support the hospital’s functioning.
Scheduled Mortgage Workshop – Increasing Entry to Home Financing
In an effort to enhance financial inclusion and support families in the Volta Region as part of their comprehensive strategy, Dr. Dzoboku indicated that Republic Bank intends to organize a Mortgage Clinic in the area before the end of the year.
The clinic will offer customized advice along with access to Republic Bank’s top-tier mortgage options – which boast some of the lowest rates available – aiming to assist more people and households in achieving home ownership.
Regarding this initiative, Dr. Dzoboku commented, “At Republic Bank, we feel that everybody should have a space they can call their own. The forthcoming mortgage clinic represents a calculated move to make our accessible housing options more readily available to the residents of the Volta Region.”
This is part of our mission to make dreams of homeownership a reality, while contributing to the region’s social and economic development,” he mentioned.
Looking Ahead
The Republic Bank has shown significant dedication to the Volta Region through ongoing investments since launching its branch in Ho earlier this year. This persistent effort underscores their firm resolve for driving change across the region. By forging robust alliances with both local and regional entities, the bank aims to fully tap into the economic opportunities within the Volta Region and sustain business growth locally.
