Morocco’s youth took center stage at the Political Leadership Academy (PLA) 2.0, a three-day event held May 2-4 in Rabat, as part of national efforts to boost youth participation in the 2026 elections and shape the country’s vision for 2030.
The initiative, organized by the Youth Policy Center in collaboration with the Danish Youth Council (DUF), gathered more than 80 participants from various parts of Morocco. The event featured interactive sessions focused on global campaign tactics, assessing public policies, and crafting policy briefs.
The event, hosted at the Istiqlal Party headquarters, culminated in an “open mic” session with Nizar Baraka, minister of water and equipment and Istiqlal Party secretary general, giving participants a chance to exchange ideas and recommendations directly with a national political leader.
According to YPC, PLA 2.0 builds on the first edition’s field research and aims to broaden partnerships across political parties while maintaining neutrality and fostering long-term youth engagement in politics.
Participants like Anass El Khamlichi and Malak Khayari described the experience as inspiring and transformative
