Ashaiman, May 07, GNA – In partnership with Opportunity International Savings and Loans, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) organized a mentoring event for students at the Ashaiman Technical Vocational Institute focused on fostering entrepreneurial skills.
The event centered around the theme “Ghana’s Future: Our Shared Duty” was designed to equip the upcoming cohort of leaders with the tools needed to construct a more luminous and thriving tomorrow.
Mrs. Salvata M. Koku, who serves as the Ashaiman Municipal Director of NCCE, mentioned that the event was arranged to connect entrepreneurs with valuable experience to enlighten the students about their professional journey.
Dr. Imurana Mohammed, who leads the Programs at NCCE, highlighted the significance of values, stating that for students to succeed, they should adhere to principles like effective time management and commitment.
He emphasized that values play a crucial role in all areas, hence students should be dedicated and genuine, performing their tasks with professionalism, quality, and devotion.
Madam Dinah Kakari, who leads transformation at Opportunity International Savings and Loans, emphasized the significance of strong values. She stated that without these ethical foundations, managing monetary tasks would be challenging. Madam Kakari also highlighted the connection between adhering to core values and achieving financial prosperity.
She encouraged students to demonstrate an interest in investing and planning their budgets as part of transforming their finances, warning them not to resort to unlawful methods for earning money.
“Stay away from unethical and unlawful methods such as cheating, theft, online scams, drug involvement, prostitution, infidelity, spreading hate, human trafficking, and peddling substandard products for financial gain. Begin saving today, setting aside at least ten percent of your daily earnings,” she advised.
Ms. Jaliilatu Alhasan, CEO of Hajia Luxury Empire, emphasized the significance of schooling and urged students to concentrate on their studies and engage actively in school events.
Miss Alhasan emphasized that recognizing their future lies within their control is crucial, hence they ought to make wise choices as they mature.
She emphasized that building an entrepreneurial spirit takes time; thus, they shouldn’t compete with others but instead concentrate on their own progress for bigger successes.
