The book offers an intriguing blueprint for turning India into a leading global economic power by 2047, aligning with the nation’s hundredth anniversary since gaining independence.
This detailed analysis scrutinizes India’s economic scene, highlighting significant accomplishments, pinpointing obstacles, and suggesting essential changes required for fostering sustainable and equitable progress.
Dr. SP Sharma characterized India@2047 as an extensive examination of India’s economic development.
“The book traces India’s journey from the post-independence era and the pivotal 1991 economic reforms to today’s digital and startup-driven economy,” he said.
“The emphasis is placed on seven crucial domains—structural reforms, international trade, global partnerships, economic robustness, worldwide standing, along with burgeoning fields like artificial intelligence, the digital sector, and startup ventures. Over the last seven years, India’s economic path has notably stood out,” he remarked.
Professor RM Joshi commended the book for its “thorough empirical and analytical insights,” describing it as a “comprehensive undertaking” that provides a distinct perspective on India’s position within the worldwide economic framework by the year 2047.
He pointed out that this demonstrates our transition from a low-income economy to one that is currently valued at $4 trillion, with certain projections anticipating it could reach between $35 and $40 trillion by 2047.
Professor Niti Bhasin from the Delhi School of Economics highlighted the policy significance of the book, pointing out programs such as Make in India, the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and Atmanirbhar Bharat as major catalysts for advancement.
She additionally highlighted India’s improving export performance and new trade accords as key instruments for attracting more foreign investment. “Beyond

The publication delves deeper into the expansion within sectors such as agriculture, technology, healthcare, education, and infrastructure. It also emphasizes the importance of adopting inclusive and sustainable approaches to achieve the aspiration of a Vikshit Bharat by the year 2047.
The inauguration ceremony included an engaging panel discussion with distinguished contributors such as Krishana Agarwal from BJP, Prof RM Joshi who serves as the Vice Chancellor at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Dr Ajay Dua formerly holding the position of Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, Prof Niti Bhasin affiliated with the University of Delhi, Col Saurabh Sanyal, and AP Vicky Shaw, along with several others.
